A smart assistant is a virtual robot that resides on your smartphone. It does many things for users. You can ask it to sing you a song and it will do it. Not just that you can even ask it to order something for you from Amazon and it will happily do it for you. These days these devices even come embedded in a device that is used inside the home so you can expect them to do things like shutting the lights off and even to turn on the camera outside your home.
At present, there are around 3 assistants that are mostly in use across the smartphones. There is Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri. All these assistants work on the same logic but only differ when it comes to protocols. To alert all these assistants you need to utter the cue words after which they are alert and listen to your commands. When it comes to the accessibility they are easily usable and users won’t have much problem in using them. The most interesting thing about them is that is made of the artificial intelligence platform which makes it easy for them to learn and grow.
When it comes to the working of smart assistants. The process is complex yet very interesting. Not every user will ever get to know the working but It is surely an art of how the concept was initiated. The very first process is for the user to utter the sentence which may be a query or a statement. A statement can even be an assertive statement. Once the statement is done, it is then broken down into small pieces before sending to the server. At the server side, there resides an algorithm that has the main task to analyze and see what does that query actually mean. Once the best response is framed then it is sent to the smartphone. The below infographic is a wonderful example of how all the top 3 assistant stand side by side with each other.
